Sonnet 1

What is this love that is preached by the bard
When one cannot stay with the one he made a vow
Seeking the company of a new love to visit his yard
To flower a new Magnolia that grows on the bough
Indeed it is true this Cupid is blind
For it is not the eye which must be sought
But in the heart which should draw to the side
And bind two lovers in a sacred silver knot
If fidelity is brighter than the realm of the light
If the flames of love have more fuel than the Phoenix
If passion is a red wine with age only has more delight
When these are met then will I give in love's fiendish lyrics.

But dear lovers do not loose heart from this,
Hold your heads high in the hope of bliss.
