Sonnet 16 'I Used To Kiss You On Your Holy Head'

I used to Kiss you on your Holy head,
There blossomed the soap scent of your shampoo!
'I kister BRAIN!' I used to say -- no dread!
That you'd get sick again, and then, die, too!
The tender, circling warmth of your embrace,
Your arms reached just a bit above my waist...
Your radiating glow, floating like lace
Your smile, among the children playing with paste.
Why, EVERYONE could feel you sitting there,
So silent, shining, beaming, twinkling Peace!
It's not your words most folk remembered -- Fair!
To say, that in your presence, they felt... release!
From every self-judgment, or fear, or care...
And I, I miss the soap scent of your hair!
The feel of kissing you, no longer there...
