Love Poem: Song of Sorrow

Song of Sorrow

Seated near the water weeping,
Lonely maiden in deep despair.
Whippoorwills were snugly sleeping,
Boughs were drooping, weeping willow.

Flowing gown surrounded in sorrow,
Gentle goddess softly sobbing.
Moonlight misty, sweet magnolia.
Tears like diamonds dripping, dropping.

Betrayed, dismayed, spirit shattered,
All was lost by cruel deception.
Without the one true love that mattered,
Death arose in her reflection.

Slowly walked into the water,
Footprints left upon the sea shore.
Ripples radiated heaven’s daughter,
Sorrow departed forever more.

Seated near the water weeping,
Lonely lover in deep despair.
Whippoorwills were snugly sleeping,
Boughs were drooping, weeping willow.
