Love Poem: Song of Betrothal

Song of Betrothal

I have sought your place down by the sea
for a heart like mine trothed in unity
I have searched the lands low and high
for Love that would extend unto the sky

I have walked the mountains path and trails
hunting a beloved who never fails
go forth oh daughters of the land
there is only one woman I'll take in hand

She is fair, my love, and tender of heart
I dream she's there when the day does start
her words are honey within it's comb
the only one I will bring to my fathers home

I seek for you now most everywhere
looking for the sun shining in your stare
there beauty lies within flowing robes
and inner light whose bright blaze shows

She'll think of me as her comely Lord
with my company never will be bored
with many talents is she graced
among the peoples her work is traced

She's the fruit of the vine unto my smile
will speak sweet truth without any guile
she'll enfold me with serene embrace
lift her eyes up to seek my face

She'll reach forth to take hold my hand
and follow my paths throughout the land
our children will all become one nation
The stars of heaven will be our station
