Somewhere Or Maybe

Somewhere
or Maybe Far Away Further Still

Come home my friend,
you have been gone too long.
You went without me,
adventuring places,
I can not go.

I need to be there.
I need to make sure,
things go well.
Who will lose your passport?
Who will send our luggage to the wrong place?
Who will get us arrested?
Surely,
You will be bored?
I, on the other hand am still here,
thinking of all that we could do....

If I;
talked to the ambassador just one more time,
if they will let me in,
and later if they will let me out.
If I;
called the local paper, and the international magazines,
to let them know crazy has come to visit,
authors on the loose,
wild imaginations let go,
without hope of recapture.

Would they send the guards?
Would they send the lolly?
Would they think we are crazy and forget about...
the American dolly(ies),
as they are to square, and round for spaces,
considered proper in the London Court.
Instead back to Australia to the OUT Back...
they would scream and we would go,
not for the first time,
not for the last,
but...
again.

All cakes should be topped with pink roses... pretty and perfect.
The kind they serve at Tea Parties, on special occasions.
That means every time, as times with friends are always special.
