Love Poem: Somewhere In Cygnus

Somewhere In Cygnus

Did I tell you I have to go
did you disagree
did you stand there on the edge of ether
once more asking me not to leave

I don’t remember

But this once again new life time
leaves me empty
searching emotions shadows
constantly
to end this derelict
within my soul
for eyes I do not recognize
a face I cannot find
a smile which can contain
your everlasting love

And I am hollow
bought by a ticket
for a hope I purchased
long ago
somewhere in Cygnus
on the light of Lyra’s strings
just a stones throw from Deneb
with you is where my heart is beating

My love
poor is this stone
is filled with weight forgetful
and its blindness decrees
I must wait for you
my love
I do not recall the burdened task
so exacting it may have seemed
and so perilous upon my soul it seems
and in all my life to have missed you
by only this yearning written so
in my blood

Do you forgive me
is the time a life
or written in a seconds length
for what ever this task was meant to be
I pray its completion come readily

My love
somewhere in Cygnus
on the strings of Lyra’s harp
Deneb wears your mantle
and echoes the beating of my heart

Is it only a moment
a day
a year maybe
it feels here to be an eternity
and in all my life
I have become adept
at only one solitary thing
how to ignore this ever present closeness
of you forever
missing

Somewhere, somewhere
out there
in the wings of Cygnus
amongst the stars of ancient Egyptians
where Lyra in her beauty sings
rests the preoccupation
of my heart
