Something Real

You run a gauntlet of phony feelings, fleeing callous and shallow relations. And yet, you're willing to suffer heartaches, for love offers unrivaled temptations. Your anguish hasn't disillusioned you, for though it's devastating, it won't stay. And time ultimately will change your mood, soliciting smiles as tears fade away. Romantic dreams supplant reality, reacquainting hearts with the joys of love. For hope's endless and all-encompassing, much like the vastness of space up above. Though it may feel like you're being driven, you aren't leery of the destination. For trust's an amalgamation of truths, dually shared without hesitation. Lonely hearts tend to seek one another, rediscovering how it feels to feel. And on the fringes of euphoria, they trade their fantasies; for something real. (Quatrain) 8/31/2017
