Love Poem: Something Like Winter

Something Like Winter

Lay me down to rest,
bury me beneath the snow
forget me beneath the frost
say goodbye and then let go.
For Melancholy sings her song,
my sad little lullaby
I'm off to bed from now till then,
but please forget to cry.
For, death is all who'll love me
He's never left me alone
he brings me with him to deep dark places
I've come to call them home,
so lay me down tonight
I'll never again break
from cruel human hearts,
because I'll never again wake.
