Something I Am Not

Something I Am Not

Yours is the face I thought about each day
and then to mind sweet memories recalled.
You treated me like low life trash you found.
I'm here to say that’s something I am not.

Yours was the voice I heard inside my mind
sometimes with words of kindness then of wrath.
You saw me as some cut throat city girl
and now you know that’s something I am not.

You are the man that lingers in my heart
despite the fact you trusted me so little
accusing me and saying I am liar.
The truth will prove that's something I am not.

You are the man that lit a raging flame
and had me drive for miles to share the times.
Still caught up in the whirlwind of your love?
I know for sure that’s something I am not.
