Someplace Black

You gave your love to me selfishly.
you loved me for reasons that weren't your own.
How could I have known?
I assumed that if you were saying these words they must be true.
How was I to know these words weren't coming from you?

They were coming from greed from what I could give you. They were coming
from someplace black. They were coming from selfish demons and the heart that
you lack. I can't buy you a soul.

You thought I could give you riches. Things beyond your wildest dreams.
I won't give you gold or material bliss. They won't keep you warm at night.
You would rather have my money in your pocket over loving arms holding you
tight. Your words aren't your own.

They were coming from greed. from what you thought I could give you. They were
coming from someplace black. They were coming from selfish demons and a
heart that you lack. I can't buy you a soul.

So now you're left penniless and broken. You say now you're true.
I won't buy one word that you sell. You'll use it to buy hate on your disastrous road
to hell. Sorry I had to be so cruel. Sometimes I have to say how it is. I won't give
you material bliss, your words aren't coming from you.

They were coming from greed from what you thought I could give you. They were
coming from someplace black. They were coming from selfish demons and a
heart that you lack. I can't buy you a soul.
