Love Poem: Someday

Someday

He, obediently, kneeled down
As I beg him, to tie, my trainers
Today is my first day, to round
Outside, to join world’s travelers

My new sneakers is cheap, and
It has no name, but, I do love it
For it was a labor, of his hand
To suit the need, of tender feet

As he was tying the white laces
I smelled his blood, its affection
How it has warmed, more faces
The backbones of a great nation

I do have his heart and his mind
I do have his looks and his smiles
Not his fame, but his name, I bind
An inspiration, to reach the miles

Before I could show my first step
I’ve decided to follow the provider
To have hands, a rough one, yet
Caring, like his, of a loving father
