Sober Love

The feel of your body next to me
Is similar to the buzz of promethazine
Or a triple stack of ecstasy
And every word that you speak
Is equivalent to a bag of weed
But who needs that?
Every kiss is a hit of crack
I often try to quit
But I always relapse
This is driving me insane
And you my Prozac
So I know that I am an attic
Because withdraw kicks in when I can’t have it
How could I let this happen?
It’s apparent the change is drastic
I think they call it punch drunk love now
Left me hung over and strung out
I love the high but hate the come down
I’d do whatever to get some now
Next thing you know, I overdose
Comatose and each time I wake from my coma
My need for you grows even stronger
As I wear this look of somber
I pray to feel this way no longer
I longed for love, until up crept love upon my shoulder
Who would have guessed I would be a junkie
Man, I wish love was sober
