So Little Time
If I seem a little down and sometimes wear a frown,
I guess it’s just because I get a little sad.
It’s so hard to understand why time with you I’ve planned
Cannot be mine because of times you’ve had.
There are so precious few hours to spend with you –
It hurts to think you’d use them foolishly.
It’s like stealing from the blind and life seems so unkind
But I find no one is to blame except me.
I sometimes wish that we could be more, in this life, than people see.
But the cards are dealt and we must play our hand.
So, I sit and wonder why and sometimes want to cry
Because of things in life I just can’t understand.
