Love Poem: Snuggles the Kitten

Snuggles the Kitten

My kitten arrived in a box,
that meowed, and when I opened it up very slowly,
out jumped a streak of grey fur- but she did run to hide,
no, she inspected everything in her path and not in her path.

          My new kitten sniffed Smudges,
my old calico, who tucked in her feet and her tail,
she reached out her paw to touch every toy of Smudges,
and she checked out the food and she gave me a good look.

My kitten did a lot of running ,
and in time came and curled up beside me to cuddle,
so I called her Snuggles and she is so lovable and so fun,
she gets herself in the smallest, strangest places that I laugh.

My kitten is soft and real silky,
just a ball of fur with legs that has quite a big meow,
she is not afraid of visitors and she seems to love children,
and will play with them until she flops down in a purring sleep.
