babe, close your eyes your time has come
for twelve years you graced me the best
with your loyalty and zest
your dark eyes and white hair
snapshots in my mind,

with your laps,

arcane maybe, but for me I remember
little snowball running laps around me,
lapping water from his dish, and
jumping upon my lap. He really was quite
the joy.
