Smoke and Prayers

Smoke And Prayers

The day your world came crashing down;
Was you very much afraid?
Did you fall to your knees without a sound;
Hoping that your life would be saved?

As the memories of your life quickly flashed by;
Did you say a prayer and recite your loved one's name?
Was there a point in which you solemnly said goodbye;
Or was your last minutes spent looking for someone to blame?

Did you question if Creator had forsaken you;
Or did you feel his presence near?
Did you feel as if you was attending a great retinue;
Or did the chaos and noise make your thoughts unclear?

As the towers fell from the sky;
And the smoke engulfed your vision,
Did you know it was the day you would die;
And making peace with it was the only decision?

Did angels appear to you at that moment;
And are they with you still?
With a beautiful choir they sing your condolence;
And reward your earthly goodwill?

May you rest in peace in the arms of heavenly beings;
And should none forget your face.
Spoken prayers for your family and friends;
May they feel the world's mournful embrace.

In memory of those who died on 911
