Smiling Back At Me
When I look back
Over the years
To all my lovers
Who have faded
Into times shadowy mist
I can see faces
That are sometimes as clear
As a bright summers day
They have not gone
They are here with me
Wherever I go
Still loving and caring for me
In the silence of my soul
When madness fills my life
They give me words to share
Or sometimes a song to sing
And though I know
There are others
Who have shared their lives
That does not make me
Jealous or sad
I too have traveled that path
Only to find
That when I look back
