Love Poem: Small, Small World

Small, Small World

 The red string of fate
the nonexistent ties
the late starry nights
overlapping into days
golden sparks with hazel flecks
brightens the stormy greys
the skies cleared up
fading into pastel sunsets
of bright pink and purple hues
It's a small, small world, after all
I've been right here, so have you.

Perhaps, I'll know you in another life
at this moment, you seem stranger
I wonder if our paths will ever cross again
So many 'ifs', 'buts' and 'maybes'
the odds, they seem astronomical
but hope is stubborn, and so am I
It's the fate that binds us all
In a world so, so small
I'll be right here,
and it looks like you'll be too.

if we were to cross our paths again
do you think we'd see the spark?
amidst the bright reds and glaring whites
would you walk the lane until it's dark?
And when we're beaten down by the rains
could we rekindle those flames again?
life comes to a full circle
but we are back to where we never began
Just one word and I'd risk it all
with the burning passion of youth
It's a small, small world you see
I'm right here and so are you.
