Love Poem: Sit With Me

Sit With Me

I was stunted in my growth,
Busyness was the culprit,
I was riding down the highway way too fast,
When I had no business being on it,
A hundred miles per hour, the scenery was a blur,
I couldn't see the exit signs, you think my heart would learn,
It wasn't until I crashed and they towed my car away,
And I was stuck without a vehicle, and made to walk again,
There was no sense in running, time stood still for me,
And I could finally watch the sunrise, and the wind whip through the trees,
And even though I was in agony to get where I thought I needed to go,
God reminded me of the beauty I missed, and placed my heart in slow mode,
This world is running you in circles, slow down so you can see,
Sit with me, let's talk, for I am everything you need,
I know you have responsibilities, but this is a crucial time,
I want you to step back to prepare your heart and mind,
The transition will not be easy, and you may lose some friends,
And trust me, I will hold you until the very end,
I saw your tired heart, you were at a crossroad,
And the only way to slow down your pace was to get you totally alone,
This will change your heart, And bring you back to pace,
You will become aware of your surroundings, and my love will lead the way,
The scenery will become vivid, your sights about to change,
Slow down and you will see, you weren't meant to ride that highway.
