Love Poem: Sirens

Sirens

Out of place, and out of time
Weathered hands; a spark divine
Out of shadows, young sirens call
Stretching beyond a former withdrawal

A song plays loudly in my ringing ears
Waves of panic bonding with my fears
Finding context for phantom memories
Replacing symphonies with meant-to-be’s

Little moments found with ghosts of fiction
Finding new ways to reduce the friction
I know it doesn’t have to be this way
But I love the twisted way my mind decays

In love with the nights we said goodbye
I’m left out of place and out of lies
As your waning tides carry me to sea
Young sirens sing to me; freely and eternally
