Sing the Soul, Sing
Sing. And mourn.
Yes, we do these things.
We are told so to do.
There are songs and sadness.
We bring the two –
the melody, the mourning –
together. As one.
You passed from me, of course,
and I seek comfort
in bringing song to the soul,
the soul that is now melody
but is a mourning.
