Since Birth

Since birth i've been cursed with this ache to do more.

Since birth i've carried the weight of every female in my family on my shoulders

They are all counting on me to be what they couldn't

To learn, and read and accomplish and soar.

To prove everyone wrong. I'm far from dumb.

I won't end up a statistic, I won't let any man bring me down.

I won't be a gold digger, dependent on him to stay afloat.

Sometimes it's a struggle because I keep losing friends in the process of my hussle.

 I keep losing chances.

And the tears that keep falling are tears of my ruined romances.

Why since birth have been cursed with this mission?

Why can't I be normal? Why can't I fail?

Cause since birth i've been cursed not to.
