Love Poem: Simple Pleasures

Simple Pleasures

Being alive is the soft white wet snow
When falling on you cold red nose
When catching it with your stuck out pink tongue

Being alive is rafting a river
It’s the pounding of your heart through your ears
It’s struggling every paddle to survive

Being alive is a warm white blanket
It’s cuddling it when you’re cold
It’s embracing it when you sad

Being alive is falling in love
It’s having someone who can’t live without you
It’s realizing you can’t live without them

Being alive is rain on a tin roof
It’s the dripping little sound you hear from inside
It’s the pelting fragile droplets on your window

That’s being alive
Soaking your feet in the sea at sunset
Splashing in puddles on a serene Sunday
Spreading the smile on a sunny spring day
