Love Poem: Silly Heart

Silly Heart

Has it been long enough?
Is it time?
Thirty years older you appear to me,
withering before it is autumn.
Am I seeing you through time lapsed lenses?
Distanced by time or thoughts,
or just folly?

I could use a paint brush and add some colour to your hair,
trim it a little here and there,
may be I could straighten that frown,
fine tune your voice
and interpret it to sound softer,
pat your shoulders and have you fit into your clothes.

Silly ain't I?

That fragrance of chocolate
still lingers, hovers, unchanged.

Would you stop time,
or is it just in our head?
Would you stop these thoughts,
or just drop dead?
