Silent-Pain

Little blonde curls, ribbons, laces and frills
Her eyes are a window to a soul that is chilled
She giggles and laughs, she bounces and plays
Her heart is like stone buried in clay

She matures into beauty that no man can resist
Then he’s buried alive by her yelling and fits
Blinded by love he pushes ahead
He marries the girl he will soon come to dread

She pours on the charm and he’s a fool once more
Only to be verbally beaten and cut to the core
Her needs come first despite his hurt and his pain
He must die to himself for he has nothing to gain

She believes not his feelings and nor will he stray
While He sits and he thinks and his options he weighs
Her attitude says your always wrong and I’m right
He utters not a word to avoid a fight

His heart is damaged and he can take it no more
He packs all his thing and heads for the door
She comes home to a note on the counter that reads
I gave you my best and you ignored all my needs

I loved and adored you despite your stinging remarks
You stomped on my feelings and cut open my heart
I can’t take all the pain and the hurt is too great
An I’m sorry won’t cut it, it’s a little too late

I took what was left of my soul and my pride
I could take nothing more for the rest of me died
I gave you my best and it was crushed into dirt
I hope you never experience such anguish and hurt

I am a man no doubt and my feelings are real
Unfortunately, God didn’t make me of steel
If love finds its way to your front door once more
Give your heart and soul and be the wife he adores

Remember that true love is not measured in time
Love is patient & blind but above all else, love is selfless and kind
