She Was Gone Ii

My heart ached when I lost Sharyl-The enigma
That temptress that simply was the greatest love of my life
The heartbreak was so great, the loneliness so cruel at the time
I could not imagine a recovery…

She Was Gone

I felt hollow-like my heart had been pulled from my chest.
The old saying better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all struck
me
I thought about that but…

She Was Gone

And the realization that this would be permanent
I could search for some inner truth or higher meaning
But it would change nothing-My grief would always be with me
My constant companion after I lost Sharyl…

She Was Gone

So I asked myself, what was worse
To lose the love of a lifetime? or to realize that maybe?
She never loved me at all??
