Love Poem: Shattered

Shattered

Old memories die hard,
new ones even harder.
What's the point of holding on
just to play the martyr?

It was perfect weather then
on some uncloudy day.
But soon the thunder would roll in,
beyond the Milky Way.

Things are never what they seem
to any other stranger.
Do not judge because your heart's
been known to feel the danger

Trust is such a fleeting thing
on this cerebral plane.
Deeply buried in the past
are words that could explain.

Lifeline has been tossed away
into that deep abyss.
Love's been shattered,torn apart;
nothing left to miss.
