Love Poem: Shadowless

Shadowless

On his face, tears are slithering,
In his heart, feelings are quivering,
He’s trying to hold himself but nothing is triggering,
“Where is she?” He desperately would scream,

Under the shadow of a tall, glamorous tree,
A young man sat there weeping beside a river,
He was surrounded by the arms of loneliness,
That held him tight like a mother holding her child,

He saw her shadow follow his,
He felt himself inhale her perfumed breath,
He contemplated the emptiness around him,
Imagining her warm body holding him tightly,

He took a deep breath to swallow his pain,
But instead, he felt the pain swallow him,
He tried to move his trembling hands
Wanting to cover his ashen face,
But the burning tears
Kept him motionless,

Separated from his love,
His life, his soul,
“Where is she?”
His voice echoed once again
Dissolving into the breezy air,

He sat there,
Feeling the memories seep through his veins,
As he watched the river beside him
Cry all these droplets of water
That joined to make it,

He felt the world getting cut into pieces,
He felt the isolation segregating him,
Without her…The sky would cry forever,

“If only I can hurl my heart and squeeze my soul out of me, just to watch my pain
set free,” he took a deep breath. “Darkness covered all the beauty and glamour
life had shown us, and that life will show…ME! You went away taking my
happiness with you, and you left the sorrow that multiplied with every breath I
took,” he spoke to the nothingness surrounding him.
“Where is she?”
“Where are you?”
“The girl who broke me,”
“Come back; breathe your soul into me to sedate mine.”

His tears fell violently,
His heart was bursting into feeble tears,

“I am here.” A voice whispered softly,
“I always have been.”
“Always…Always…Always”

Fading away into an illusion…
