Love Poem: Set You Free

Set You Free

I'd turn the pages on the past, steal your pain away.
Find that moment love first kissed you, in our better day.
Save you from this tarnish that has come to be.
Erase the very memories and all you know of me.

I'd leave you in your happiness, to live a better life.
cursing all those words I said that cut you like a knife.
Watched your freedom for a time, in our final hour and
kill the very existence of the way I turned things sour.

I'd do this for you if I could, that I hope you see.
Yet I'm learning the greatest way to show my love...
is to set you free.
