Senses of the Season
I see the sunrise in the eastern sky,
its morning rays caressing clouds of pink
as freshness in the air says Spring is nigh.
I hear the mockingbirds, their trills in sync,
as notes caress this April morn so fair
while calling for a mate with which to link.
I smell the scent of jasmine in the air,
and thoughts of love begin to fill my mind
while strolling on this morn without a care.
I taste the sweetness which I long to find,
like honeysuckle kisses that adorn,
this April day that nature has designed.
I feel the tender moment of this morn
that only springtime’s essence can impart
as souls refresh and all of life reborn.
Sensations served by nature a-la-carte
as senses of this season fill my heart.
