Seeking

God has so made our heart that nothing can ever fill it but God Himself ~ Charles Spurgeon I searched for happiness on shores of romance There were only passing fancies there, I needed another chance… To find the truth, the way through the dark, The life that was joyful – for this is what I sought I searched for inspiration on a trembling muse There were only gentle vibrations there, I needed to find the whispers… The stirrings of a gentling, a feeling breathing… With wonders beyond imagining – hues of pleasure I searched for beautiful on the tears that poured out There in dew, the rain, the intimacy dripping I needed to know the sensation… Coloring my dreams in splendors rising, risking The music in skies – erasing every doubt, each sorrow I searched for remarkable on the wings of each season There were whimsical winds, dancing leaves, I needed to feel the astonishment… Grace smiling through the spring sonnets, forests Alive with the tenderness – keeping soft reflections I searched for light on the stardust moments, nightly There were glistening memories there, I needed to believe, have faith… Assurance that heaven is real and I can truly see The wonder beyond the tear stained clouds, glowing I searched for serenity on the gusts of freedom’s flow There amid the clusters of psalms, prayers, I needed to understand peace… Promising me the miracles of grace that saves, Bleeding through the walls I’ve built around my heart I searched for truth on the laughing sparks shimmering There with all the fires of love growing, I needed to listen to His wisdoms… Revealing the way through the past, the darkness Into the redeeming promises, the deliverance, the gospel When I finally knew Him, the way that I could have All those many moments before, when I ignored The beautiful, the wonderful, the joyful… There in His presence, the way to see past the fears Into the life that is forever, always… eternally I’m His!
