Secret Rendevous

Good bye, my love, I’ll ne’er see you again.
This affair we had was not meant to be.
I love my wife and the children would pain
to know that they would be taken from me.

So sad, what we had is best left unsaid.
I will remember forever and a day.
Unlike tea leaves the future can’t be read.
We could not stop, there was no other way.

My note says enough for you to depart.
Please respect my request and don’t delay.
Entreat me to stay your love in your heart.
I’ll keep you in mine tucked deeply away.
