Sarah Snake

Sarah snake slithered so slowly, for she had lost her way in life
She used to be a happy snake; she was once a loving wife

But her hubby Sydney he had passed away and now she was all alone
She slithered around so aimlessly and drifted far away from home

She wrapped her scaly body round the base of an old tree
And wept many sad tears dreaming of her lovely mate Sydney

A young girl was walking by and had never seen a snake cry
She crept over to Sarah who was sobbing like she would die

She stroked Sarah’s scaly skin and wiped the tears from her eyes
Sarah looked at her with her beady eyes in amazement and surprise

The little girl whose name was Lynn, ran over to her mother
Asked if she could keep Sarah and share her with her brother

Her mum came to look at the sad snake and they took the old snake home
Now Sarah lives with the family she is contented and no longer alone
