Love Poem: Sarah Connor Eyes

Sarah Connor Eyes

Looking at my most treasured possession,
an old, faded photograph of you
Peering into your Sarah Connor eyes,
I’d often try to surmise
what mysterious visions did you see
Was it a future without me?
Had I become a living distant memory?
Or did you see something darker;
fate perhaps, as a terrifying thunder cloud
zapping you away in the night swiftly
This worn picture is all that now connects
me to you
Destiny took you to the bleak future
that I was born into
Terminating any possibility
of a heroic rescue by me
Left here empty-hearted,
with a fading, plastic
youthful view of you
I’m asking your Sarah Connor eyes
what next to do
My pleading eyes
don’t have a time travel clue
