Same Old Song

You're the same old song, I've heard it all before
Blah, blah, blah, followed by "I'm a different kind of girl who'll treat you better and love you more"
Until you take advantage of my kind heart when you see I'm really insecure
Girl, you're the same old song, I've heard it all before

I don't want to hear any more words or fake promises, I need actions
Show me you care and be real with the passion
Or take your lying self to another guy who will fall for the lies you tell
I want to be the real me and in a relationship I shouldn't have to disguise myself

I act like I'm confident to hide the fact I'm insecure
Because girls have took advantage of my kind heart before
I shut myself off for a while to try and numb the break
I guess this is karma for when I played girls in my younger days

Back when I was a teenager and didn't have a dad to show me better
The heartache of my mom not being there for me, made me feel like I could sleep around with girls for my pleasure
But I changed my ways years ago and became a better man
Love has put me through some stuff I still don't understand

Some of my loneliest nights were in a room with people who I thought loved me
I'm still bleeding from the last girl who cut me
I'm not sure what hurts more, the fact I wasted so much time on her
Or the fact she ridiculed me behind my back, but to my face said she understood me

You're the same old song, I've heard it all before
Blah blah blah, followed by "I'm a different kind of girl who'll treat you better and love you more"
Until you take advantage of my kind heart when you see I'm really insecure
Girl, you're the same old song I've heard it all before
