Safe Distance Is a Painful Embrace

She ravaged all the romance
Cheshire grinning with some kind of graceful guile
Devouring the warmth of the glow, oh how we glowed!!
Batting those lashes, fire flickers like dancers
in the shine of her eyes...this is as close as we'll be
I learned to be wise... as her heart belonged never to me

Still she savored all the romance...
My affection sufficed as a prize beheld only to her
Foolish sir! to think an unfeeling heart could be revived
This woman's no victim... More like an Emotional spy!!
claiming twin Gemini as her alibi...which will show here today?
The risk and reward became all too high ...until the
(higher elevations=harder falls) equation added up
                  ...all to often
Her feelings are all attached at the surface of skin
if only they flowed both ways and aroused within...
hopelessly wrapped in her carnal craving

If you knew truest sentiment was never attainable
then why jump aboard sure-fire train wrecks?
Yes, it was the sex....But be honest...you know you wanted more
Selling yourself all the milk in the store...Consigned now,
to the fact I long for her heart from this safe distance

........... Safe distance is a painful embrace
