Love Poem: Saboteur

Saboteur

You lodge that impeccable smile at me
In such a beguiling fashion
Thinking I don't have eyes to see
You're fabricating your passion

It's true I feel your powerful gaze
That takes me to my knees
But this love has seen better days
I'm lost inside the freeze

My love you've cost me of myself
Not wholly but in part
I've put my soul up on a shelf
You've sabotaged my heart

Now listen to me and hear me well
You've cut me to my core
My love's not yours to buy or sell
I won't be damaged more

So when you dream alone tonight
Remember this my sweet
I'll give you up without a fight
And get back on my feet
