Love Poem: S On Net

S On Net

I swore I'd never rhyme for you or write in metered flow
Then let this be a secret kept between your heart and mine
If you don't pass this poem along, no one will ever know
especially because we only interact online

I never thought I'd try to reach across that great expanse
to upgrade a connection with a flirt I've never met
yet here I am (in verse no less) about to take that chance
to manifest as real what is on my ethernet

I want expanded bandwidth for I covet your esteem
I do not want to sex you, though that metaphor applies
where I gift you my all in the most intimate extreme
which you return with fervor as our spirits synchronize

I find my words inadequate expressions of intent
This declaration may be love--if you give your assent.
