Today I took that route we took
You and I so long ago
Not so long after all,
maybe a month or so
I remember you sitting next to me
Talking all the while
I remember the roads that were misplaced,
as we drove mile after mile
You thought I was lost, I told you no
I don't think that you believed me
I thought that maybe you didn't know
All I wanted was you beside me
Later on we went to that park
Where I used to try to be cool
I couldn't do that around you
You make me act like a fool
On the way home you held my hand
I don't know why even now
You could have taken my heart right then
I don't understand just how..
Now the walls are up and I still live
I feel so empty now
I gave everything I had to give
I guess it wasn't...
