Love Poem: Rise Above

Rise Above

Fallen from grace and into your pool
Nothing more than a big fish bowl
And we’re circling around the key
Of the secret you and I will keep
Hoping some day you will see me
Please see
See me

Will not rise above
(God, I’m in love)
Don’t wanna leave this place
(Hoping you will see my face)

Surround yourself with ghosts of the past
You’re drowning me and I won’t last
I suppose you’ll take me down with the ship
I’ll never notice as I cling to your lips
Descending together on this trip
What a trip
Kissing lips

Will not rise above
(Not away from my love)
Don’t wanna leave this place
(I would never see your face)

There is time
This is place
Let me help
You erase
Pain of past
From your face

Will not rise above
(God, I’m in love)
Don’t wanna leave this place
(Hoping you will see my face)

Now I know that you’re scared
And the pain I cannot bear
Take from you to wear on me
Stay in this bowl, don’t leave
Hold you as you grieve
Don’t leave
Time to grieve

Will not rise above
(Even if you deny love)
Don’t wanna leave this place
(We wear the same face)
