Love Poem: Rise Above

Rise Above

If you can't stand upon the water, I'll watch you drown.
I feel the death shudder, as I fall down.
Come to me, you'll feel fine.
I'm your sanctuary, yet you'll catch this sorrow of mine.
Look what you did, look at my headstone crumbling.
Did you take the highest bid, to have love fumbling?
I will hold onto your heart, I will...
You'll ask when the heartache will start, yet it's time to kill.
If only for one night, I'll remember.
If we could only stop the fight, we'd be together.
Your killing lies, hide behind the veil.
I looked into your eyes, and thought my heart would heal.
All I saw, was agony and anger.
I'll watch as you fall, I'll watch the danger.
I'll take this pain, I'll have it rough.
Can you keep sane, have you had enough?
Can you see the light, through your eyes?
We always fight, for I saw through your lies.
What was love, all just a game?
Go rise above, so I can forget your name.
Well if you wanted honesty, what could I say?
How about, "Now you can see, I don't love you today."
I could read you like a book, no more secrets.
Those pictures we took, all just regrets.
The love you give is hell, so I don't care.
So I dare tell, it is my heart you tear.
This time we waste, all those years.
The memories I erase, all those falling tears.
For a second I thought, I was falling in love with you.
Your heart was what I sought, but now we're through.
What was I thinking, was I thinking at all?
I was left sinking, to the bottom I'd fall.
This gun is the perfect fit, you're done, for I'm done with it.
