Retrospection of a Loving Mind

Nothing lasts forever
think you're so smart but you aren't so clever
You'll be crying when everything comes together
Bet you thought that love would hold out and break you never
But here is the truth at the end
It's better to remain a friend

Now that this story is coming closer
to discovering what is better or worser
You keep on reading though you can't stop faking
your life is nothing else but what you're making
it to be
just wait and see

But hurry hurry run out further
was it all worth losing just to have her
sure you say that there is nothing you'd rather
hold in your arms but the truth I gather
is that she doesn't want you
isn't it about time you came around to that view

Twice a liar and damned to fire
I guess the lover is stretched out on wire
from the puppeteer and his horrible play
that runs on through 'til your final day
But isn't it better than not knowing
what lost love and fate have been showing

Maybe it is
maybe it's not
but in this end
it's all you got
