Love Poem: Restless Hearts

Restless Hearts

When in bed and I'm alone,
I reflect upon my past.
All the hours spent awake,
My pulse is racing fast.

My restless heart beats louder,
In the middle of the night.
An unquenchable desire,
And a fire burning bright.

With your love and inspiration,
I could make a brand new start.
Though unlucky breaks and past mistakes,
Don't blame my restless heart.

I rise to greet the sun,
After a minimum of sleep.
My eyelids feel so heavy,
But my thoughts are running deep.

My restless heart beats stronger,
With one like you in mind.
So bold and yet so gentle,
And the last one of your kind.

No one compares to you,
But I'll try to do my part.
If I don't succeed, I humbly plead,
Don't shame my restless heart.

The endless faces that I search,
While passing on my way.
They lack the strength and courage,
That you exhibit every day.

My restless heart beats in time,
To the rhythm of my soul.
On a quest to find a dwelling,
And the room to make it whole.

Trapped within my mortal skin,
That keeps us both apart.
Please understand and take my hand,
And tame this restless heart.
