Love Poem: Requiem

Requiem

I kiss her lips, her face
now cold, yet still with
beauty.Yet she was not
there.This tide of inertia reigns,
I call aloud, but no sound.Oh to
hug close, she is too
soon away.Desire remains to
hold her to me, to hear her
voice, see her smile, slipping
her hand in mine. Her love, a
rose dropping from my grasp,
slowly to the ground to die
alone.My words unsaid,
the arrogance of pride shackled
by emotions,still dead. Inside.
