Remembering Mom On Mother's Day

She could see all this in her mind
even though she hadn't been there
it was in June with flowers in bloom
the sun very bright that morning
mom humming in the next room
she stopped to kiss me and said so long
gave me a hug and said, "I Love You"
she heard the car start
she ran to the window she was already gone
tears filled my eyes as she toys to remember
what was it she heard how can she recall
it was in the moment that those words
came to mind
"I Love You darling" see you tonight
so many years have gone by it seems so surreal
this Mother's Day makes it seem so real.
