Reflections of Love

Closing my eyes I reflect on the memories I have of us
A relationship tha was intimate and full of trust
We always made each other laugh and smile
As we would lay and hold each other for awhile

I remember the touch and the smell of you
And you whispering in my ear that I taste like honeydew
I loved your eyes which held a special glow when filled with desire
I remember fingertips that touched and caressed, feelings that sent my soul
through the wire

The hugs we always shared are intimate moments I'll forever keep
And how can I forget the contours of your face I traced while you were asleep
You had a special kindness in your heart you were willing to share with others
I'll never forget your facial expression the day you told me I'd make the perfect
mother

Every time we held hands there was a tingle inside my heart
And then there were the times you would kiss my nose and tell me we will never
be apart
Thinking back on our first kiss I remember how nervous I felt
But knowing I'd be kissing you relaxed me and I started having feelings that
couldn't be helped

I spent the best night of my life lying in your arms
I felt safe and at peace, secure and warm
When I look at you now I still see the love in your eyes
I guess that's why it hurts so much and I guess that's why it makes me cry

There was a time when you told me I was your future wife
But that's over now and to this very day no one has taken your place in my life
You see I have these reflections of our love that can't be taken away
These reflections I'll keep in my heart and hold dear to me every single day
