Love Poem: Red Dress

Red Dress

She hands me the red dress
With yellow flowers
She never knew what I'd do
Within the hour

I remember you looking in
On all us girls
Your black suit in place
White collar as a pearl

The harp plays on and on
Amidst the chatter
My eye catches the dress,
It doesn't matter

The woman that I sent to it
Has re-gifted the dress
Now someone else wears it
Not four tables hence

Your eye catches mine but
You retreat when I turn round
We say so many things
And yet without a sound

I often wonder of that day
If you'd come around
If only had worn the dress,
Red with yellow flowers down
