Love Poem: Reality check

Reality check

“we woke up early one morn, ego shorn
it felt as though we were in form reborn
nodes within stirred, boundaries blurred
our head and heart, with love concurred”

the tree has shed all its leaves to be nude,
bare reality- little to delude,
leaves were attire for season that had been,
clothes are off, he will be buried unseen!

his Porsche still awaits him in the garage,
still gleaming with beauty post last lavage,
ironed suit with silk tie untouched remain,
his shoes are polished, besides hat and cane!!

end of the road for a successful man,
in a single strike, death altered his plan,
for all his friends a reality check,
ego blind, did not see fate’s grip on neck.

expensive house with adorned orchards watch,
silent procession of funeral march,
only things of value that follow now,
weeping children, friends, family in tow!

wealth to amass, more than ever needed,
In his life drama, love he evaded,
it glittered with earnings of lifeless stones,
some red roses on grave for buried bones!

Wake up and see for real what life is!
breath by breath it heads to that final kiss,
fake is this world with its lure of wrong wealth,
live to love and share, be sublime in health!
