Quiet Passing of Significance

i dont want to fight
for your love no more
started out right
ending neither so sure
feelings and words
couldnt keep it clear
so the space in between
slowly filled with fear
take a bow or knee
i thought you knew me
how we held in sleep
dreams are never free
clever and sly, clears the coast
a gentleman's wife became a ghost
we talk of children
and land to tend
then I heard
you had a new friend
taking my place, you deny
in front of my face
look in my eyes
you knew me not
i, you, better
quiet passing
of a significant other
