Love Poem: Puzzle

Puzzle

Puzzle

Lost centre of a picture
The photographic character
Has been removed

Missing piece
From in the puzzle
Which is the jigsaw
Of your life
Its convoluted edges
Just won’t seem to fit
Anywhere else

Two pieces of a perfect match
But one of the halves
Is gone

One life with which to live
But it’s the one
That has been stolen

A monumental space
Filled with absolutely nothing
Its gravity a listless weight
Embraces the black hole in its heart
Yet remains so very animate
To a whirlpools bottomless
Drawn to every meaning it can find

Spot light which finds no surface
To catch its dazzle cast

A future which should become
But doesn’t have a past

The lost keystone
Of the fallen arch

A room
Without a door

Missing piece
From in the puzzle
Which is the jigsaw
Of your life
Its convoluted edges
Just won’t seem to fit
Anywhere any more
